Our Story

Superior service, personalized attention

The farm was purchased in 2019 with the goal to change the community by providing food for all in a food desert. Since opening we’ve built relationships with lots of local organizations including Father’s House in Thomasville. We have also created our non-profit Mercy Gardens to be able to provide for the local community.

Currently we are using aquaponics to begin growing chilis, peppers, zucchini, squash, carrots, microgreens and many more to come. We will be selling our microgreens very soon, they make the perfect addition to your farm to table salad!

We love our animals as I’m sure you will, too. We started out with 50 goats in 2019 and now we have nearly 80 goats total. In addition we added chickens to the family in early 2020 and they are all now producing eggs which we proudly sell and deliver locally. Keep an eye out because our family will be growing in fall 2021 when we introduce pigs!

Meet Our Founder

Born outside the D.C. area Mike came to the piedmont triad with his family in the seventh grade. After graduating high school he joined the Army and served proudly for three years. Shortly after he got out of the army Mike started working in the landscaping business and eventually owned his own landscaping business. Thirty years later Mike decided it was time for a change and Fat Daddy Farms was born!
