Hey Farm2Me Family!
Winter is melting, and a new spring season is upon us. We’ve been onboarding new producers, growers, ranchers, fishermen, customers, distributors, and wholesale clients for the new marketplace. Our goal is to reach 500 producers by end of Spring – and turn on our location-based feature to all 50 US states and Canada.
We’re working on these things:
Onboarding Producers
In November, we completed our backend portal to allow producers to self onboard and get us to 5,000 producers by end of 2021. The first 50 producers came from most of the 50 United States. We anticipate and have begun to see interest from the Mexican, European, Australian, and South American markets as we continue to expand.
Traceability & Supply Chain
We’re adding more traceability to each grower, fisherman, and producer in our supply chain. Location, Founders, Dates, Backstory, and tracing the purchase to the restaurant menu, grocery aisle, and consumer packaged good. You’ll be able to see where that ingredient and product comes from – down to the shellfish or egg on the menu.
Growers and Buyers will finally be able to add Dynamic QR codes to their menu or their product’s packaging – so their customer can see exactly where that ingredient comes from.
A customer will then be able to share their experience, note their favorite products, leave reviews, and share on social media. Reinforcing the cycle of transparency & traceability!
At the core of Farm2Me traceability is our Block Chain technology – built on IBM Trust and VE. We create a Smart Contract between each part of the supply chain – purchases between the grower and the customer, exchange between the product and the grocer, and the sale between the grocer and the customer. Each block in the supply chain permanently living in the Traceability block chain.
Farm2Me Association
Instead of selling product for $0.09, the seller keeps $0.90 of the sales price. And, every farmer and producer is an equity partner of the Farm2Me network so they get paid a Farm2Me token every time a Smart Contract (transaction) occurs. Giving the grower and manufacturers part equity owner of the Farm2Me network.
In fact, Customers can also buy Farm2Me tokens and invest in the future success of the Farm2Me network, and also in individual growers & producers.
The Farm2Me Association will act as a Cooperative network for growers, fisherman, producers, CPG brands, and restaurants to add Farm2Me Assoc. badges and QR codes to their packaging and stickers.
The Farm2Me Association board will ensure that Farm2Me producers follow Farm2Me requirements. Producers will pay minimal cooperative Dues to the Farm2Me Association to cover shared marketing costs. And the Farm2Me badge will serve as the highest standard of transparency in the grocer, seafood, agriculture and consumer packaged goods industry.
