“Slow Food is Fast to Respond to Sandy Relief!” Through history, Local Food Systems have been there for their communities, through human riots in California to Natural Disasters, they are the primary system in place to support a local community in need of fresh food. So when Sandy came and went, we realized Farm2Me had an obligation to put our year and half of research to the rescue. With a database of over 2,000 local farmers, ranchers, vendors, food trucks and restaurants in NYC, SF & ATX, we’ve just begun to mobilize a local food system that will serve as a temporary FREE food system in areas that have lost their infrastructure after the storm.
Meet the vendors in NY/NJ who are keeping NYers fed. Help support your Local Food Systems feed people for free (www.indiegogo.com/Farm2meSandy).
