Everyone has that one family member who is known for his or her cooking. Alejandro bears that title. Not classically trained, but full of passion and focused on everything from ingredients to presentation.
It was his passion for cooking that changed his view on the traditional Bloody Mary cocktail. He yearned for bolder flavors in his recipe to compliment his favorite meal – BRUNCH. It was time to start experimenting with new flavors to bring this cocktail to the next level.
Alejandro crafted many homemade sauces for his dishes and realized he should start using them in his Bloody Mary recipe. This creative journey started in his apartment in Astoria, Queens in 2009. He loved entertaining family and friends and serving his famous cocktail with brunch. Using a homemade sriracha and chipotle tomatillo sauce, Toma was born and Alejandro shared it with anyone that would drink it.
Alejandro never stopped making his famous Bloody Marys. After getting married in 2010, completing his MBA from Fordham University in 2012, and having his first child in 2014, he started getting a little more serious about creating a brand behind Toma. He introduced Toma to the market in 2017.
Now, Bloody Mary enthusiasts and others who love to entertain can serve their guests a delicious, consistently made Bloody Mary cocktail with ease. Some of the finest restaurants in the NY metro area have taken notice and now pour Toma behind the bar.

How to make the classic – Tome Bloody Mary Cocktail
The Classic Toma Bloody Mary cocktail is reminiscent of that weekend brunch you enjoyed by the ocean during the spring and summer months. Spicy, savory, and plenty of horseradish to wake you up. This is the Bloody Mary you want to serve with seafood, perhaps some local oysters and grilled shrimp. We used our Horseradish mixer for this recipe, but you can use our Original or the Mild. We then added some lemon juice to brighten it up and some bitters to add some complexity and more flavor to the cocktail.
THE CLASSIC – TOMA BLOODY MARY

We hope you enjoy this cocktail with family and friends!
How to make a delicious Virgin Bloody Mary
If you’re skipping the booze this evening or simply cutting back on your alcohol consumption, you’re going to want to know how to make this virgin Bloody Mary. It’s the perfect substitute at any weekend brunch and it will satisfy that spicy craving for any mom-to-be.
We love making this mocktail with our Toma Original. It has a peppery, savory, and slightly smoky flavor profile and just the right amount of heat. Lime juice pairs really well with the Original mixer, so make sure you freshly squeeze your limes.
Replace the spirit (normally vodka) with Club Soda. A combination of effervescence, mineral salts, and lime juice go a long way in this mocktail, making this one elegant virgin Bloody Mary! If you want to lower the heat, use our Toma Mild. Cheers!
